Bert-Åke and Gunela, founders of Podengo Friends
We who founded Podengo Friends Sweden in 2016 are Bert-Åke and Gunela, and we have a small wire-haired Podengo named Tizzel Ebbe Easter Cauldron—”Billy.”
Over the years, the team has grown to include a number of wonderful Podengo friends who make an admirable contribution to Podengo Friends; you can meet them below.
Åke and Susanne, Krullets kennel
Åke is a co-administrator for Podengo Friends and also handles the finances for the courses, events, and activities we organize. In addition, he ensures that the technology and everything else run smoothly when we hold lectures and meetings via Zoom.
Sussie is a qualified instructor in everyday obedience, agility, rally obedience, tracking, and clicker training. She has organized both tracking events and activity days for us at the indoor dog arena. She is open to anything as we brainstorm new activities—she has a positive attitude toward almost everything. Furthermore, during our summer events at Gålö, it was Sussie who coordinated all the delicious food and refreshments for 50 people.
Eva, Enyas and Cintras owner
Eva is the team’s bundle of energy! She has so many great ideas for activities and more, and she does a fantastic job as an activity leader for Podengo Friends. She generously shares her knowledge with us fellow Podengo enthusiasts and organizes activities that are both fun and educational. The fact that she is also part of the event team for our summer gatherings is a huge bonus; she is a true asset, contributing from the initial planning stages right through to the completion of the event.
Björn and Marie, Dustys and Luckys owners
In 2024, Björne and Marie joined the team—a fantastic addition that increased our capacity to come up with and organize fun activities for fellow Podengo enthusiasts. Marie also competes in Nose Work, which is a great asset for offering fun scent-based exercises—something she has already provided and will continue to provide for us.
Charlotte, owner of Alfons and the angelpodengo Svante
Charlotte became a highly appreciated addition to the team in late 2025. She is active and enjoys trying out new activities—such as dog sports, indoor dog arenas, and adventure parks—often sharing her recommendations with us. Having already led a few activities for Podengo Friends, bringing her onto the team was a natural step; she complements the group with her training in areas including Nose Work, Blood tracking, and Human search.
Agneta, breeder and representative in Östersund

Agneta Österberg is a Podengo Friends representative in Brunflo, Östersund. Agneta is a breeder and owns several Podengos of the small, smooth-coated variety. If you live in Jämtland or the surrounding area and are interested in meeting the breed before potentially buying a puppy—or if you already own a Podengo and would like to meet other Podengos—please contact Agneta or our team, and we will do our best to arrange a meetup.
Annika, representative in Skåne

In August 2026, we received the welcome news that Annika Barkhamn was happy to become a representative for Podengo Friends in Skåne. Annika, who owns two smooth-haired Podengos—Bonnie and Totte—is taking over the role from Magnus and Christin Bagewitz, who had organized many enjoyable meet-ups in Skåne over the years.
Sometimes more hands are needed to help with the activities, so Annika will also have fellow Podengo enthusiasts Pia Moor, Agnes Malmström, and Kristina Krogdal as backup for some of the meet-ups organized in Skåne.
